Richardson of the City of Wheeling, Virginia have bargained and sold and do hereby grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Joseph A. Richardson his heirs and assigns forever the following premises situate in the County of Meigs in the State of Ohio and in the County Township of Lebanon and bounded and described as follows to wit, Beginning at the south west corner of the Jenks lot fifteen perches and eighteen links from the southeast corner of section Eight and Town three Range Eleven in the Ohio Companies purchase. Thence west twenty rods to a stake thence north eight rods to stake. thence east twenty rods to the North west corner of the Jenks lot thence south Eight Rods to the place of beginning contain one acre and being part of the lot known as the Grover Lot. To have and to hold said premises with the appurtenances unto the said Joseph A. Richardson his heirs and assigns forever and the said Nicholas Richardson for himself and heirs doth hereby covenant with said Joseph A. Richardson his heirs and assigns that he is lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid that the premises aforesaid; that the premises are free and clear from all incumbrance whatsoever, and that he will forever warrant and defend the same with the appurtenances unto the said Joseph A. Richardson his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. In testimony whereof the said Nicholas Richardson and Hannah Richardson have hereunto set their hands and seals this seventh day of July AD one thousand eight hundred and forty Eight. signed Nicholas Richardson Hannah Richardson Executed in presence of Henry S. Lawrence George W. Richardson The State of Ohio Meigs County Before me Henry S. Lawrence a Justice of the peace in and for said County personally appeared the within named Nicholas Richardson and Hannah his wife and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the within conveyance to be their voluntary act and deed and the said Hannah being at the same time examined by me separate and apart from her said husband and the contents of said instrument made known to her by me she then declared that she did voluntarily sign seal and acknowledge the same and that she is still satisfied therewith this seventh day of July AD 1848 Henry S.
