Richardson of Wheeling Virginia have bargained and sold and do hereby grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Joseph A. Richardson his heirs and assigns forever the following premises situate in the county of Meigs in the State Ohio and in the Township of Lebanon. Beginning at the south East corner of the lot called the Grover Lot in section eight town three Range eleven, and lot no. eight in the Ohio Companies purchase. Thence running west on the line of said lot fifteen perches and eighteen links to a stake. Thence North eight perches to a stake, Thence East twelve perches and five links to the Bank of the Ohio River, thence south 23 dg. east eight perches and twenty two links to the place of Beginning containing one hundred and twelve square perches be the same more or less. To have and to hold said premises with the appurtenances unto the said Joseph A. Richardson his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Lawrence Jenks for himself and heirs doth hereby covenant with said Joseph A. Richardson his heirs an assign that he is lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid that the premises are free and clear from all incumbrances whatsoever, and that he will forever warrant and defend the same with the appurtenances unto the said Joseph . Richardson his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. In testimony whereof the said Lawrence Jenks and Polly Jenks have hereunto set their hands ans seals this seventh day of July AD one thousand eight hundred and forty eight. Lawrence a Justice of the Peace in and for said County personally appeared the within named Lawrence Jenks and ________his wife and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the within conveyance to be their voluntary act ad deed and the said _____being at the same time examined by me separate and apart from her said husband and the contents of said instruments made known to her by me she then declared that she did voluntarily sign seal and acknowledge the same and that she is still satisfied therewith, this 7th day of July 1848 (note: the name Jenks has variations in the same document, I have retained as it was in original) Additional Comments: Meigs County Ohio Deeds Vol. 12 p. 502 Other names mentioned in deed Grover G.W.
