STEVENS of town county and state aforesaid, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and have given, bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do give grant bargain sell and convey unto him the said Jesse W. STEVENS his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate in Rutland Township County and state of aforesaid butted and bounded as follows ps. Beginning at the southeast corner of a tract of land that I know own being a part of Fraction No. 2. town no. 6 and range 14 hence due north to the centers of the east fork of Leading Creek thence following down the meanderings of the center of said creek to the line that divides my hand from Elisha RATHBURN thence due east course to the place of beginning to have to hold the above demised premises with all the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said Jesse W. STEVENS his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Benjamin RICHARDSON my heirs executors and administrators do covenant to and with the said Jesse W. STEVENS his heirs and assigns that I the said B. RICHARDSON being lawfully seized in fee of the premises free from all encumberances that I have good right to sell and convey and will to them warrant and defend the same against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever in testimony wereof we do hereby set our hands and seals this sixth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six.. A.D. 1825 Benjamin RICHARDSON and Betsey his wife grantors of the within deed of conveyance personally appeared before me one of the Justices of the peace for said County and severally acknowledged the signing and sealing of the same as their act and deed for the purposes therein expressed And the said Betsey having been made known the contents of said deed and being by me examined apart from her husband declared that she of her own free will and accord and without fear or coercion of her husband did acknowledge the signing and sealing thereof.-Given under my hand the day and year first above written.
