All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sara Kelly Edward.F.Kelly@verizon.net February 24, 2004, 3:41 pm Written: July 9 1825 Know all men by these presents that I Benjamin RICHARDSON of Rutland Township Meigs County and State of Ohio do for and in consideration of two hundred and sixty-four dollars paid to me by John Sylvester of said Rutland the receipt aforesaid I do hereby acknowledge Do hereby give grant sell and convey unto the said John SYLVESTER his heirs and assigns a tract of land and situate in said Rutland and bounded as follows to wit Beginning at the northwest corner of Section No. 2 two in said township thence southerly by the County road so far as to make fifty rods at right angles with the side lines Thence east to the state road leading from Athens to Gallipoles Thence northerly by said road to the north line of said section Thence west to the place of Beginning containing fifty one acres be the same more of less. To have and to hold the said granted and bargained premises with all the privileges and appurtenance to the same belonging to him the said John SYLVESTER his heirs and assigns forever and I the said Benjamin RICHARDSON do for myself my heirs executors and administrators covenant with the said John SYLVESTER his heirs and assigns that I am lawfully seized in fee of the premises That they are free of all incumberances that I have good right to sell and convey the same in manner aforesaid and that I will warrant and defend the same to him the said SYLVESTER his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all person~In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five~.
