W. H. SHAUG of Grahams Virginia in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars and for the payment of which he hath this day given him his bond or single bill payable in twelve months from this date and whereas the said George RICHARDSON is desirous of securing the payment of the same when it shall become due and payable. Now these present witnesseth that the said George RICHARDSON for and in consideration of the premises and of the sum of five dollars to him in hand paid by the said Peter LALLANCE all the following described property viz all his household furniture beds beding cooking utensils farming ditto books pictures he now in his house at Sterling together with two cows one steer one horse and cart twenty hogs and the frame of a grist mill at present standing in the land of John and Hugh BROWN in said county and state together with all the rest of his personal property not otherwise disposed of To have and to hold the same unto the said Doct. W. H. SHAUG and assigns forever upon trust nevertheless and with the intent that if the said George RICHARDSON shall fail or omit to pay the said one hundred and fifty dollars when the same shall become due and payable then and in that case the said Peter LALLANCE being directed by said Doct. W. H SHAUG so to do shall having first given ten days notice of the time and place of sale by an advertisement thereof posted on the door of the court House for said County of Meigs provide to sell at the said place called Sterling to the highest and best bidder for ready money the goods and property aforesaid or such part thereof as the said trustee Peter Lallance can then find and out of the proceeds of the sale thereof the said Peter LALLANCE shall first pay the cost of sale and this deed and secondly the amount of said debt of one hundred and fifty dollars and in trust then due thereon or whatever part of said debt and interest may then to wit at the time of said sale be due and unpaid The said Peter LALLANCE shall pay to said W. H. SHAUG on order and lastly shall pay the balance if any to the said George RICHARDSON on order and it is understood and agreed that the said furniture and other property aforesaid are to be and remain in the possession of the said George RICHARDSON until such time as the said Doct. W. H. SHAUG shall order or cause the same to be sold-It is also understood and agreed that the provisions of this deed are to cease and determine and the said debt to be void when ever the said George RICHARDSON shall pay the said one hundred and fifty dollars and any interest due thereon. In testimony whereof the said George RICHARDSON hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written- signed sealed and delivered in presents of William WILSON T.
