J. V. Smith, Special Master Commissioner, ordered a sale for May 10, 1856 of 
property owned by William and Sarah Cummings at the suit of Thomas Ashworth.  
Land located in east half of southeast quarter section #32, town #3, range #13 
in Bedford Twp., Meigs Co., Ohio, appraised at $760.
 
NOTICE
Court of Common Pleas, Meigs Co., Ohio ordered the sale of property and farm 
owned by Jacob Stansbury, deceased, in Columbia Twp. for May 15, 1856.  Land 
located in east half of fraction #260, lot #12 in town #9 range #15 in sections 
#9 and #10.  130 acres appraised at $1,800.  Subject to the widow’s dower.
 
SHERIFF’S SALES
Court of Common Pleas of Meigs ordered the sale of the property of Elihu H. 
Stedman do to the suit of Chauncey Brooks, et. al.  Appraised at $150.  Sale to 
be May 10, 1856 for lot #47 in Coalport, Meigs Co., Ohio.

Court of Common Pleas of Meigs Co., Ohio ordered the sale of property owned by 
Calvary White in Scipio Twp. for May 17, 1856.  Land located in part of 
fraction Lot #14, township #7, range #14, valued at $338., by suit of James 
Murphy.
 
Court of Common Pleas of Meigs Co., Ohio ordered the sale of property owned by 
William Robinson at the suit of B. Brown for May 17, 1856.  Land located in 
northwest quarter of section #18 town #9 range #15 containing 40 acres, valued 
at $250.
 
Court of Common Pleas of Meigs Co., Ohio ordered the sale of property owned by 
Russel French at the suit of Jesse Hays for May 17, 1856.  Land located in 
southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of section #18, town #7 range #14 
containing 40 acres valued at $480.
 
Court of Common Pleas of Meigs Co., Ohio ordered the sale of property owned by 
Elihu H. Stedman at the suit of C. Brooks, Son & Co. for May 17, 1856.  Land 
located in northeast corner of lot #1, town of Middleport, Meigs Co., Ohio, 
valued at $125.

Court of Common Pleas of Meigs Co., Ohio ordered the sale of property owned by 
Daniel Bailey at the suit of Benjamin Huntingdon for May 10, 1856.  Land 
located in east half of section #1155, valued at $240.
 
Court of Common Pleas of Meigs Co., Ohio ordered the sale of property owned by 
Justice Depew, et. al. at the suit of Oliver Grant, trustee of R. C. Grant for 
May 10, 1856.  Land part of lot #240 of Pomeroy, Meigs Co., Ohio, valued at 
$700.  Names listed of persons owning property adjoining that of Depew were R. 
C. Grant, John M. Strider, and Milton Cooley.
 
Thomas Sharp Jr. vs Adam Braton and wife, et. al.
Thomas Sharp filed at petition on Jan 25, 1856 against Adam Bratton, and Mary 
Bratton, his wife; Caleb Wood, Ira Wood and Elizabeth Wood, his wife; Jessie 
Lowther and Unity Lowther, his wife; William Conner, John Conner, Milton 
Conner, Hepsilty Conner, Mary Elizabeth Conner, and Bazil Willson and Tabitha 
Willson, his wife in the Court of Common Pleas, Meigs Co., Ohio demanding 
partition of the following land: north east corner of lot #4, section #16, 
township #9 and Range #15, 80 acres.
