J. Rice, of Lincoln street was called from earth Fri. morning at her home on Lincoln street without a moment's warning. She had arisen as usual and prepared the breakfast meal and was seated at the table, when her husband noticed a peculiar expression pass over her face. A moment later she fell over dead. Dr. Hanlin was called and pronounced it apoplexy. The deceased was in the sixties and was the wife of G. J. Rice, better known as Jacob Rice, old residents of Middleport and known by everybody. Besides her aged husband, Mrs. Rice leaves one son, who is married and lives away from here. Her maiden name was Addie McKaskey. Additional Comments: Abbie was born April 16, 1837 in Pennsylvania and died in Middleport January 28, 1910. She was the daughter of William McCaskey of Pennsylvania and Elizabeth Klein of Pennsylvannia. Buried in Middleport Hill, Middleport, Meigs Co., Ohio. Source Death Certificate.
