James R. Proffitt Claimed By Death Thursday Evening
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Great Bend Baptist Church 
for James R. Proffitt, 79, who died Thursday night at his home after short 
illness. 

Surviving the deceased are his wife Daisy; daughters Mrs. Lizzie McBlane, 
Columbus; Helen Harris, Portland; Nellie Kohen, Coshocton, Elmer Proffitt, 
Charlies Proffitt of Portland, Carl Proffitt, Parkersburg, and a foster-son 
William Proctor of Syracuse.  Also surviving are 26 grand children and 31 
great grand children. 

A son Homer and his first wife Bertha preceded him in death. 

Friends may call at the family home at any time. 

Burial will be made in Great Bend Cemetery under the direction of the Ewing 
Funeral Home.
