To the Honorable court of Common Pleas: The petition of GASTON BOURLARD respectfully shows: First. My full name is GASTON BOURLARD Second. My place of residence is number ____ street, town of Pomeroy, state of Ohio. Third. My occupation is Coal Mining. Fourth. I was born on the 4th day of September, anno Domini 1886, at Sailly-La-Bourse,France. Fifth. I emigrated to the United States from Havre, France, on or about the 15th day of July, anno Domini 1912, and arrived at the port of Quebec, Canada , in the United States, on the vessel Glasgow. Sixth. I declared my intention to become a citizen of the United States on the 17th day of April, anno Domini 1917 at Akron,Ohio, in the Common Pleas court of Summit County. Seventh. I am married. My wifes name is Alphoncine Bourlard she was born in Auchelle,France and now resides at Pomeroy,Ohio I have 0 children, and the name, date, and place of birth of each said children is as follows. Eighth. I am not a disbeliever in or opposed to organized government or a member of or affiliated with any organization or body of persons teaching disbelief in organized government. I am not a polygamist nor a believer in the practice of polygamy. I am attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and it is my intention to become a citizen of the United States and to renounce absolutely and forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, and particularly to French Republic of which, at this time I am a citizen/subject, and it is my intention to reside permanently in the United States. Ninth. I am able to speak the English language. Tenth. I have resided continuously in the United States of America for a term of five years at least immediately preceding the date of this petition, to wit, since the 30th day of July, anno Domini 1912 and in the state of Ohio for one year at least next preceding the date of this petition, to wit, since the 15th day of May, anno Domini _1914.
