To the Honorable court of Common Pleas: The petition of OTTO LOHN respectfully shows: First. My full name is OTTO LOHN Second. My place of residence is number ____ street, town of Pomeroy, state of Ohio. Third. My occupation is House Painter. Fourth. I was born on the 12th day of December, anno Domini 1880, at Elberfeld, Germany. Fifth. I emigrated to the United States from Antwerp, Belgium, on or about the 26th day of September, anno Domini 1897, and arrived at the port of New York, in the United States, on the vessel Friesland. Sixth. I declared my intention to become a citizen of the United States on the 6th day of April anno Domini 1915 at Gallipolis,Ohio, in the Gallia County court of Gallia County, Ohio Seventh. I am married. My wifes name is _Laura Lohn she was born in _St. Louis, Missouri. and now resides at Pomeroy I have 4 children, and the name, date, and place of birth of each said children is as follows. 1. Margaret Marie: September 3, 1903 St. Louis, Missouri 2.Otto Charles: June 11,1908 St. Louis, Missouri 3. Edward Fred: July 31, 1912 Crown City, Ohio 4.Raymond Chester: December 18, 1918 Pomeroy, Ohio Eighth. I am not a disbeliever in or opposed to organized government or a member of or affiliated with any organization or body of persons teaching disbelief in organized government. I am not a polygamist nor a believer in the practice of polygamy. I am attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and it is my intention to become a citizen of the United States and to renounce absolutely and forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, and particularly to Germany of which, at this time I am a citizen/subject, and it is my intention to reside permanently in the United States. Ninth. I am able to speak the English language. Tenth. I have resided continuously in the United States of America for a term of five years at least immediately preceding the date of this petition, to wit, since the 6th day of October, anno Domini 1897 and in the state of Ohio for one year at least next preceding the date of this petition, to wit, since the 10th day of December anno Domini _1910. Eleventh. I have heretofore made petition for citizenship to Common Pleas, Gallia County, Galliopolis n the 14th day of June, 1917. The state of war existing between the United States and Germany.
