There are many conflicting rumors about the circumstances of the case, and we can nor find any person who seems to know anything about it, or any two men who tell the same story. The Sheriff, with a posse, went to the house of the negro, who is named HODDY, we believe, but he made his escape. We can not learn that any measures are now being taken to secure his arrest. We sincerely hope he may be apprehended, and if found guilty, suffer the extreme penalty of the law. There is talk of a reward being offered for him, but nothing definite has been done. --- Sidney Journal. -- =================================== gbarton@pacbell.net Gary Barton "Its never too late to have a happy childhood."
