She was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Kenosha, Wis., to the late George B. and Carolyn (Hoage) Robinson. Her husband, Forest Bailey, preceded her in death in 1995. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Don Putnam of Troy and Pam and Mike Hobbs of Houston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Kim Rice of Creston; two step-daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Dick Horney and Jeanne and Larry Smith, all of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two stepsons and a daughter-in-law, Dave and Joan Bailey of Defiance and Steve Bailey of Hawaii; one sister, Lucy Thomas of Rockford, III.; two brothers, Ray Lanham of Garland, Texas and Charles Lanham of Waterbury, Conn.; five grandchildren, Josh, Joe, and Trevor Rice, Amanda Putnam and Emily (Greg) Hunsucker; and nine step-grandchildren, Mike Horney, Cheryl Brown, Jennifer Schlater, Jeff Bailey, Daniel, Michael and Michelle Smith and Michelle and Andy Bailey. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by two brothers, Ike and George Robinson. She was a graduate of McKendree College in Illinois. She was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps having served in World War II and was the activities director for Leisure Oaks Nursing Home in Defiance. Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Fletcher United Methodist Church, Fletcher. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fletcher United Methodist Church with Pastor Russ Tichenor officiating. Military honors will be held at the cemetery at a later date. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
