Charles W. Bair, 89, of Troy, passed away at 2:40 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 
2008, in Wilson Hospital, Sidney.
He was born Sept. 24, 1918 in Miami County, a son of the late Lawrence and 
Anna (Hirsch) Bair. He married Doris Mason on Sept. 19, 1941, and she preceded 
him in death on Dec. 15, 2000.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in law, Barbara and Jim Krall of 
Defiance and Beverly and Russ Eilerman of Sidney; four grandchildren, Michelle 
(Shane) Spittler of Columbia, S.C., Susan (Isaac) Villa of Sylvania, Megan 
Eilerman of Sidney and Jodi Eilerman of Tampa Bay, Fla. He also is survived by 
two brothers, Paul Bair of Casstown and Melvin "Buck" Bair of St. Paris; a 
sister, Norma Phlipot of Russia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded 
in death by his parents; wife; a brother and sister-in law, David and Dorothy 
Bair; sisters-in-law Mary and Peg Bair; and a brother-in-law Vern Phlipot.
Charles had been a resident at Dorothy Love in Sidney for the past 10 months. 
He spent his life engaged in farming which he loved. He also moved grass in 
the cemeteries and side ditches as a former Staunton Twp. employee. He enjoyed 
John Deere collectibles. Funeral services with the Rev. Jason Egbert of the 
Lost Creek United Church of Christ presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher 
Cemetery.
