Clark, 85, of Conover, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, in Heartland of Piqua. He was born in Milton, W.Va. on Sept. 10, 1921, the son of the late James Arthur and Lora (Persinger) Clark. He married Mary Katherine Boyd on Oct. 11, 1941, and she preceded him in death on June 13, 2005. Howard served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre in World War II and received three service bronze stars. He was a former employee of A.O. Smith and was a member of the Lena Baptist Church. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Freda Maxson and Sandy and Steve Bayshore, all of Sidney, five grandchildren, Robert (Michelle) Bayshore of Rosewood, Christopher (Melinda) Bayshore of Fletcher, Dwaine Maxson of Sidney, Matthew Maxson of Rosewood, Sylvia Maxson of Canandaigua, N.Y.; and four great-grandsons; and three sisters: Lorene Clark, Mary Ann Mullennix and and Dorothy Hoblit, all of Covington. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; four sisters; and three brothers. Funeral services with the Rev. Philip Schumm of the Lena Baptist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.
