She was born May 12, 1913, in Piqua, to the late Charles L. and Cornelia Fogle Guenthner. She was raised in the Piqua and Troy areas. She married Clarence Emerich on Aug. 15,1934. She worked for the Atlas Underwear Co. in Piqua and Hobart Brothers in Troy. In 1948, she and her husband relocated in southern California before returning to Ohio in 1960. In 1981, they moved to Houston, Texas, where they joined their daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband; grandson, Michael McClellan; her parents; a brother, Paul Guenthner; and sister, Norma Beeson Turner. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia McClellan and grandson, Don McClellan, of Katy, Texas; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, David and Rosalee Guenthner, of Piqua. A memorial service was held Jan. 10 at the First Baptist Church of Katy, Texas. There will be a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Fletcher Cemetery. The Rev. Doug Magin of the First Baptist Church in Troy, where she was a member for many years, will officiate.
