Hershel J. Griffith, 67, of Piqua, died at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday May 5, 2004, at 
Upper Valley Medical Center, from Mantle Cell Lymphoma.
He was born in Raven, Va., June 22, 1936, to the late Rufus and Clerssie 
Newberry Griffith. He married Sheryl A. Ralston on Dec. 16, 1978, in Clayton, 
and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Kay and Michael 
Davis of Piqua and Cindy J. and Danny Bennett of Piqua, a stepdaughter, Tracy 
Beougher of Phoenix, Ariz.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgle and 
Billie Griffith of Smithfield, Va., Jerry and Doris Griffith of Conover and 
Roger Griffith of Richlands, Va.; a sister and brother-in-law, Shelvia and 
Ralph Armes of Richlands, Va.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and 
eight step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Vicki 
Havenar and one sister, Lonie Beatrice Griffith.
Mr. Griffith graduated from the Richlands High School in Richlands, Va., in 
1954. He was a member of the Miami County, State and National Boards of 
Realtors, a past member of the Piqua Jaycees, past president of Camp 
Evergreen, treasurer of the Piqua Investment Corp, past president of the Miami 
County Board of Realtors, and was a broker of Herschel Griffith Realty for 30 
years. He attended church at the Cornerstone Life Center.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Cornerstone Life 
Center, 8547 N. County Road 25-A, Piqua, with Pastor Kenneth VanHoose 
officiating. Burial will follow in the Fletcher Cemetery
