James "Jim" M. Gruver, 82, of Troy, passed away at 8:32 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 
2007, in the Upper Valley Medical Center.
Jim was born Aug. 28, 1 925, the son of the late Edgar and Valora (McKinley) 
Gruver.
He married Helen Mason on Oct. 14, 1949, and she survives in Troy. He also is 
survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David E. and Rita Gruver; one 
granddaughter, Kelly Gruver; and two great-granddaughters, Alyssa and Kaitlyn 
Elliott, all of Troy.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Barbara Kloss, preceded him in death.
Jim graduated from Staunton High School in 1944, and formerly was employed by 
Hobart Manufacturing of Troy. His passion was flying, and in his late 40s he 
obtained his pilot's license.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday in the Suber-Shively Funeral 
Home, 201 W. Main Street, Fletcher, with Pastor Gary Hosbrook of Troy 
presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.
