Haines, 66, of 1256 Camaro Court, Piqua, died at 11:59 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 19, 1941, in Piqua, to the late Perry W. and Harriet E. (Baker) Slack. She married David D. Haines on Aug. 30, 1980, in Sidney, and he survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Gayle (Brad) Allen, Ann (Dean) Cathcart and Lara (Rod) Sims, all of Piqua; a son, John (Renee) Copsey of Piqua; a stepdaughter, Debi (Frank) Lynch of Sidney; two stepsons, Kris (Mary Ann) Haines of Chicago, III. and Doug (Laura) Haines I of Tucson, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and two brothers, Kenneth (Geri) Slack of Mishawaka, Ind. and Fred (Shawn) Slack of Georgetown, Texas; and her beloved canine friend, Louie. She was preceded in death by a grandson, John Clayton Richards. Mrs. Haines was a graduate of Piqua Central High School and still was active with their Class of 1959 ladies group. She was employed at Sears as a sales associate for major appliances. She enjoyed crafts and visiting and assisting senior citizens at various area residence centers. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Grilliot officiating. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.
