Dorothy P. Hill, 96, of Piqua, and a former resident of Miami-Shelby Road, 
passed away at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007, in Garbry Ridge.
She was born June 25, 1910, in Shelby County, the daughter of the late William 
and Maude (Mellinger) Jones. She married J. Richard Hill on Nov. 9, 1934, and 
he preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 2000.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Pat) South of Piqua; and two 
sons: Douglas R. (Earlene) Hill of Traverse City, Mich, and David W. and 
(Ruth) Hill of Madison Ala. She was a loving grandmother to six grandchildren 
and 11 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a 
son, John S. Hill; one great-grandson, Andrew R. Hill; three brothers, Guy, 
Forest and Ralph Jones; and two sisters, Hazel Webster and Margaret Newman.
Dorothy graduated from Piqua High School in 1928. She was a homemaker and she 
helped her husband on the farm. She was a loyal member of the Fletcher United 
Methodist Church and participated in the Spring Creek Township Community Club.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Suber-Shively 
Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, with the Revs. Russ Tichenor and 
Marilyn Hardman of the Fletcher United Methodist Church officiating. Burial 
will follow in Fletcher Cemetery
