Mabel Christena Louthan Hill, 97, formerly of Troy, passed away at 10:03 p.m. 
Monday, March 26, 2007, at the Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney.
She was born Sept. 17, 1909, in Troy, the daughter of the late George A. and 
Elma F. (Fetters) Louthan.
She graduated from Troy High School in 1929, and married Robert Gustin Hill on 
May 30, 1935. Robert preceded her in death Aug. 1,2001.
Mabel was a homemaker. She and her husband raised three children, Ted (Dona) 
Hill of Helena, Mont., Barbara (Lawrence) Young of Lima and Donald L. Hill 
(deceased). She was a loving grandmother to four grandchildren; three step-
grandchildren; and six step-great grandchildren. A brother, Ben C. Louthan of 
Troy, along with many nieces and nephews also survive Mabel.
In addition to her parents, husband and son, a brother, Chester Louthan, and a 
sister, Ruth Buchman, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, in the Suber-Shively Funeral 
Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, with the Rev. Elaine Strawn of the Unitarian 
Universalist Church of Wooster officiating. One hour of visitation will be 
held prior to the funeral services beginning at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be 
at 11 a.m. Saturday in Fletcher Cemetery.
