Maggert, 90, of Lena, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in his residence. Born on June 6, 1922 in Lena, Don was a son of the late Forrest and Clara (Purk) Maggert. He married Lethea McEowen on April 25, 1943, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 2010. Together they raised three children, all of whom survive He was a loving grandfather to seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a brother, Frances "Hank" Maggert and two sisters, Mary Runkle and Hazel Spriggs. Don was a member of the Lena Baptist Church. He was a 1940 graduate of Lena Conover High School and he served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. He was retired from Hobart Manufacturing in Troy. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, with the Rev. Ed Sollenberger of the Lena Baptist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Lena Baptist Church, P.O.
