Maggert, "Cookie" age 83, of Lena passed away peacefully December 26, 2010 at Heartland of Piqua. She was born on February 9,1927 in Rossburg, Ohio to the late Everett and Mary (Boze) McEowen. Lethea married her childhood sweetheart, Donald Alan Maggert, on April 25,1943. They had a double ceremony with friends in Newbern, NC while Donald was stationed at Camp Battle. Completely devoted to each other, their marriage was a 67-year storybook romance. Lethea worked for two years at Atlas Underwear in Piqua while Donald was serving in WWII. When he returned she spent the rest of her life doing what she loved best, being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. Lethea was an avid seamstress, and also loved to crochet. She was a member of the Lena Baptist Church and a past member of the Eastern Star. Being the daughter of a barber she became the amateur "neighborhood beautician," and enjoyed doing her friends and neighbors hair. She will always be remembered as a sweet and gentle lady who loved to laugh, yodel and have fun. She has been such a positive influence on so many people. She will be greatly missed. Lethea is survived by her husband of 67 years, Donald A. Maggert "Donnie"; sons, Roger Maggert, Sr. of Lena; Brad (Betty) Maggert of Troy; daughter, Dona (John) Houser of Piqua; grandchildren, Roger (Kelly) Maggert, Jr. of Lena; Michael (Stephanie) Maggert of Christiansburg; Jamie (Danielle) Maggert of Connersville, PA; Scott (Crystal) Neargarder of Piqua; Joe (Ryan) Neargarder of Troy; Dustin Maggert and Josh Maggert, both of Piqua; and many great grandchildren.
