Ruby E. McKay, age 71 of Piqua passed away at 5:17 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 
2004.
She was born Dec. 6, 1932, in Troy, the daughter of the late Francis and Laura 
Elifritz Asher.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Jimmy Caudill of 
Piqua; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Rita Smith of Piqua; three 
grandchildren, Lindsay Caudill, Brandon Smith and Brad Caudill, all of Piqua; 
and a brother and sister-in-law, Loren and Bev Asher of Piqua.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by a son, David Joe 
Smith, a sister and two brothers.
Ruby was a graduate of Piqua High School. She was a member and past president 
of the Piqua Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, the Piqua Moose, and she enjoyed playing 
cards with her card club. She retired from Owen-Illinois Corp. in Lakeland, 
Fla. She also worked for Bob Evans in Piqua. She was a member of the Union 
Baptist Church, Troy.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Suber-Shively Funeral 
Home, Fletcher. The Piqua Eagles Ladies Auxiliary will hold memorial services 
at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral 
home with Rev. Ed Ellis, Hospice of Miami County Chaplain, presiding. Burial 
will be in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher.
