Miller, 89, of Fletcher, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Heartland of Piqua. He was born Jan. 17, 1918, in Canonsburg, Pa., the son of the late Harry D. and Hannah (Martin) Miller. He is survived by four children, James (Joyce) Miller of Quincy, Ted (Susan) Miller of Ellettsville, Ind., Frank (Pam) Purk of Michigan and Sandra Purk of New York; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. His special friend, Dorothy Pottorf of Fletcher, also survives Dan. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Virginia, four brothers; and a sister. Dan attended the Springcreek Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Staunton Grange, Piqua VFW Post 4874, Troy Fish and Game and was a 32-Degree Mason. Dan was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War It. He retired from Hobart Corp., Troy in 1980. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, with the Rev. Fred Peterson of the Springcreek Baptist Church presiding. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher with military honors by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.
