Helen Kathryn Morris, 89, of Piqua Manor Nursing Home passed away at 11:20 
a.m., Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, in Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. She was 
born in Miami County on Nov. 24, 1913, the daughter of the late David William 
and Carrie Belle (Lefferson) Harvey. She married Charles E. Morris on Nov. 
24,1933, and he preceded her in death in 1982. Mrs. Morris is survived by 
three children and their spouses: Nancy (George) Furrow of Covington, Marjorie 
(Russell) Mills of Medway and Charles (Rosalie) Morris of Piqua; 10 
grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and 
husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Florence, and brothers, Ralph, 
David and John. Mrs. Morris graduated from Piqua High School in 1931. She 
worked at Kresge 5 & 10, Peoples Comer, Piqua Products, and Piqua Memorial 
Hospital. She was a lifetime member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church 
in Piqua where she was quite active in the social activities and taught the 
youth for 30 years. Mrs. Morris also belonged to the East Side Literacy Club, 
Cheer Sisters Club and was active in the Ladies of the Moose. Visitation will 
be held from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 
W. Main St., Fletcher. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 
19, in the funeral home with Pastor Daniel Poole of the Church of the 
Brethren, Covington, presiding. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery.
