Gerald G. "Gene" Motter, 76, of 1531 Beekman Dr., Troy, died at 8 p.m. 
Saturday, May 3, 2003 in the Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born in Piqua 
on Sept. 12, 1926 to the late Robert and Oma Martin Motter. He married Anna I. 
Redinbo on Dec. 18,1945, and she survives. Other survivors include a son and 
daughter-in-law, Gerald G. II "Chip" and Kim Motter of Lebanon; three 
daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and William Philipps of Minster, Rhonda and 
Jon Sloan of Centerville and Kim and Dennis Anderson of Frederick, Md.; 
stepmother, Lillian Motter of Piqua; eight grandchildren; five great-
grandchildren; one brother, Robert D. Motter of Fletcher; and one sister, 
Darlene Whitaker of Covington. Mr. Motter previously was employed at McGraw 
Chevrolet, Joe Johnson, and Hardenbrook Ford Car Dealerships. He taught auto 
body shop at the Upper Valley JVS in the 1970s. He then owned and operated the 
Gene Motter Body Shop in Troy until he retired in 1984. He was a veteran of 
the United States Navy serving in World War II. He was a member of the Piqua 
V.F.W. Post No. 4874 and the Piqua Moose Lodge. He attended the Grace United 
Methodist Church and the Piqua City Schools. A funeral service will be 
conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2003 in the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral 
Home with the Rev. David Mix officiating. The V.F.W. Post No. 4874 will 
provide full military honors. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park 
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Foundation of Greater Dayton, 1293-H Lyons Road, Dayton, OH 45458.
