Motter, 97, of Fletcher, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2007, in Koester Pavilion, Troy. She was born April 14,1910, in Fletcher, the daughter of the late Walter and Myrtle (Pence) Reid. She married Kenneth Motter Dec. 10,1931, and he preceded her in death March 9, 1991. Josephine is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Dorothy Motter of Fletcher; five grandchildren, Nicole Motter of Cheyenne, Wy., Eric Motter of Cordova, Alaska, Wade Motter of Hope Mills, N.C., Aaron (Dawn) Motter of Charlotte, N.C., and Alexander Motter of Cheyenne, Wy.; nine great- grandchildren; niece and nephews, Joan Beck of Fletcher, Russell Reid of Piqua, Marvin Reid of Piqua, Gary Reid of Fletcher, and Roger Motter of Fletcher. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ora, Emmett, Herman and George Reid. Josephine was a member of the Fletcher United Methodist Church and she graduated in 1928 from the Fletcher High School. She served as the secretary for the Fletcher Cemetery for 24 years and she was a homemaker. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, with the Rev. Russ Tichenor of the Fletcher United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.
