Lillian La Rue Motter, 79, of Piqua, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2006, in 
her residence.
She was born June 29, 1926 in Montgomery County, the daughter of the late 
Walter and Edith (Bucholtz) Smith. She married Robert B. Motter on Oct. 9, 
1952, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 3,1970.
She is survived by two stepchildren, Robert (Helen) Motter Jr. of Fletcher and 
Darlene (David) Whitacre of Covington; a stepdaughter-in-law, Mrs. Gene (Ann) 
Motter of Troy; nine step-grandchildren; many step-great¬grandchildren; a 
sister, Marceil Duffy of Pleasant Hill; a brother, Charles B. (Janet) Smith of 
Greenville; a special cousin, Gerald (Lynn) Hart of Bradford; and many nieces 
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a stepson, 
Gene Motter; and two sisters, Ruth Stapleton and Glenna Smith.
Lillian graduated from Bradford High School in 1944. She was a member of 
Springcreek Christian Church. She worked for JC Penny for 46 years and retired 
as a window dresser.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 
201 W. Main St., Fletcher, with the Rev. David Clem of the Springcreek 
Christian Church presiding. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher
