Motter Sr., 78, of Fletcher, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008, in the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born Nov. 23, 1929, in Piqua, the son of Robert and Oma (Martin) Motter. Robert married Helen (Gulp) Rich on Oct. 19,1973, and she survives in Fletcher. Bob also is survived by two children and their spouses, Robert Jr. and Tammy Motter and Lisa and Randy Savage, all of Dowagiac, Mich.; two grandchildren, Larisa and Joe Wilson and one great-grandchild, Dylan Wilson, all of Dowagiac, Mich.; a stepson, Larry Rich of Bellefontaine, one step-granddaughter, Jennifer Watkins of Urbana; and three step great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene (David) Whitacre of Covington; sisters-in-law, Anna Motter of Troy, Charlotte (Howard) Cutcher of Bay View, Wiladean (Raymond) Frayley of Louisa, Ky., Juanita (John) Banner of New Carlisle; brother-in-law and best friend, Frank (Darlene) Jackson of Urbana; mother-in-law, Julia Cutler of Fletcher who loved him dearly; and numerous nieces and nephews who were very close to him. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Motter; his mother, Oma Stewart; and brother, Gene Motter. Bob was a wonderful man and husband and he will be deeply missed. He attended Piqua High School and retired in 1971 from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. He then went to work for Miami Industries in Piqua and retired a second time with 22 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 184, Piqua. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher with the Rev. Bonita Wood of the Tipp City United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery with military honors by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.
