David L. Neves Jr., 57, of 309 Third St., Piqua, died at 12:38 p.m. Wednesday, 
Nov. 29, 2006, in the Upper Valley Medical Center.
He was born April 26, 1949, in Sidney. His mother, Nancy (Graham) Sourmail-
Holt and her husband James survive in Piqua. He was preceded in death by his 
father, Roland A. Sourmail Sr.
Other survivors include two sons, David L. "Rebel" Neves III and R. L. Vincent 
Neves both of Piqua; a daughter, Nancy N. Neves of Piqua; three grandchildren; 
and three brothers, Lawrence (Tina) Neves of Clarksburg, Tenn., Roland 
(Bonnie) Sourmail, Jr. of Piqua and Wesley (Debbie) Sourmail of Cape Coral, 
Fla.
Mr. Neves was a graduate of Miami East High School, attended The Ohio State 
University and Edison Community College. He served in the Military Police of 
the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He owned Dave's Junk and Stuff in 
Sidney, worked security positions and was a police officer for the St. Paris 
and Covington Police Departments. He was a member of the Troy Fish & Game 
Club, the VFW Post 4874 and and was a co-founder of the Helping Silver Eagles 
CB Club.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in the Jamieson & 
Yannucci Funeral Home with Maj. Ronald Starnes officiating. Burial will follow 
in Fletcher Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the 
Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.
