Jesse I. Plunkett, 89, of Fletcher passed away at 8:34 a.m. Monday, April 21, 
2008 in the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.
He was born on April 23, 1918, in Miami County, a son of the late Jerry and 
Emma (Elifritz) Plunkett. He married Mary McMasteron May 6, 1939, and she 
preceded him in death on Sept. 15, 1992.
Mr. Plunkett is survived by three children, Janet MacKeller of San Diego, 
Calif, Sandra (Darrell) Langston of Houston and Robert (Barbara) Plunkett of 
Fletcher, 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 16 great-
great¬grandchildren; a sister, Betty Wilt of Tipp City; and a brother 
Bernard "Bud" Plunkett of Fletcher.
In addition to his parents, three sisters and three brothers preceded him in 
death.
Mr. Plunkett was a 1936 graduate of Brown Local School. He engaged in farming 
and carpentry.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at in the Suber-Shively 
Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, with the Rev. James Manuel of Houston 
Congregational Christian Church presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher 
Cemetery.
