Robert "Bob" Pogue, 96, formerly of State Route 235, Saint Paris, and more recently of St. Petersburg, Fla., passed away at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2004, in Palms of Pasadena Hospital, St. Petersburg, Fla. He was born Aug. 8, 1907, in Casstown, the son of the late Harley and Ollie (Clyne) Pogue. He married Lucile May Cramer and she preceded him in death on Sept. 26, 1990. His survivors include two nephews and two nieces, David Brademeyer of Centerville, Richard Pogue of Christiansburg, Wilma Long of Casstown and Betty Metzger of Sacramento, Calif. Bob also is survived by a sister, Helen Brademeyer of Dayton. In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Lester. Bob was a former welder who worked during World War II on the Panama Canal towers. He engaged in farming most of his life, retired in 1986 and moved to St. Petersburg. He enjoyed playing golf with his Florida friends until the age of 93 and would play cards with anyone who was willing. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Leland Brehm of the Fletcher United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher.
