Wayne Puterbaugh, 80, of Fletcher passed away at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 
2009, in his residence.
He was born Sept. 19, 1929, in Piqua, the son of the late Forrest Lee and 
Daisy Lavere (McGillvary) Puterbaugh.
He married Beverly Lehman on Oct. 27, 1956, and she survives. A daughter, 
Tamey Lee Lewis of Vandalia and one son, Lonnie Ray Puterbaugh of Brentwood, 
Tenn. also survives. He was a loving grandfather to three grandchildren, Holly 
Jo Stephenson of Springfield, Heidi Lynn Lewis of Bradford and Harold Wayne 
Lewis of Bradford; and one great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Destiny June Lewis. A 
sister, Shirley Barton of Piqua, also survives.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by four brothers, 
Vernon, Dale, Norman, and Darrell Puterbaugh; and one sister, Carolyn 
Kotterman.
Wayne was a 1947 graduate of Brown Local School in Fletcher. He served four 
years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He attended church at the 
Salvation Army in Piqua. A Boy Scout Leader for 31 years for Troop 295, he 
trained adults to become scout leaders and he was the Scoutmaster for the Boy 
Scout Jamboree. Wayne formerly worked for Dinner Bell Foods in Piqua where he 
also served as past president of the Dinner Bell Foods Credit Union. He 
retired from Piqua Schools in 2000 as a custodian.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Suber-Shively Funeral 
Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, with Major Robert Klink of the Salvation Army 
presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery with military honors by the 
Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.
