Putnam, 84, of Conover, passed away at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009, in Venice Regional Medical Center, Venice, Fla. She was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Marshalltown, Iowa, a daughter of the late Everett and Goldie (Gonterman) Wiseman. She married Donald S. Putnam on Feb. 21, 1947, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2004. Mrs. Putnam is survived by two children, Keith (Jeanie) Putnam of Conover and Kristen (Doug) Haas of Troy; granddaughter, Jodi (Travis) Markwood of Rushville; grandson, Jay (Becky) Putnam of Conover; one step granddaughter, Tamra (Bruce) Watson of Cincinnati; one step grandson, Scott Haas of Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Kathryn and Clay Markwood and Alii Putnam, and two step great-grandchildren, Cole and Luke Watson; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline and Bob Byerly of Fletcher and Janet and Shirley Hippie of Normal, III.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Cherrith Wiseman and Ray and Marilyn Wiseman, both of Dixson, III.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, three brothers, Kenneth, Albert and Jerry Wiseman and one sister, Delia Mae Wiseman, preceded her in death. Mrs. Putnam enjoyed her family, cooking and quilting, and she was a farmer's wife. She was a 1942 graduate of St. Paris High School and a member of the GreenView United Church of Christ near Sidney. She also was a member of the Troy Chapter 256 Order of Eastern Star. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the GreenView United Church of Christ, 3041 Leatherwood Creek Road, Sidney, with the Rev. Darrin Harvey presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.
