Janice Lucille Sanders, 72, of Piqua, passed away at 11:25 a.m. Sunday, March 
27, 2005, in Heartland of Piqua.
Janice was born May 16, 1932, in Fletcher, the daughter of the late Walter 
John and Mary Florence (Wiles) Leckey. She married Franklin D. Sanders May 
18,1979, and he preceded her in death in 1986.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jackie Vest of Big 
Stone Gap, Va.; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild; a sister, Dorothy 
Shira of Fletcher; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Leckey of Minster; nephews, Rick 
(Lisa) Shira of Piqua and Terry (Wendy) Shira of St. Paris; and a dear friend, 
Alvin Terry.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one 
grandson; brother, Walter Leckey, sister, Florence Wasson; and nephew, Walter 
Leckey.
Janice retired in 1993 after 17 years as a custodian with Vandalia Schools.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Suber-Shively 
Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, by the Rev. Bonita Wood, assistant 
pastor of the Fletcher United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Fletcher 
Cemetery.
