Slife, age 67, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 9:26PM on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Upper Valley Medical Center, ER, Troy. He was born on April 1, 1944 in Lockington, Ohio to the late Tony Leo and Edna C. (Glick) Slife. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Theresa A. (Keiser) Slife; two sons, William N. and Jennie Corns of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Jack E. and Jonora Corns of Hilliard, Ohio; five brothers: James R. Slife of Cookeville, Tennessee, John "Larry" Slife of Fort Loramie, Ohio, Thomas Slife of Piqua, Ohio, Rick Slife of Piqua, and Leonard Slife of Houston, Ohio; one sister, Linda Davis of Sidney, Ohio; five grandchildren: Kelsea, Alyson, Taylor, Jarret and Jacilynd Corns; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by two sisters, JoAnne Combs and Judith Hudson. He was a graduate of Houston Schools in 1962. He was a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge F&AM No. 14, Troy and AMVETS. Donald was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the US Marine Corps. He joined the Ohio National Guard in 1972 and retired in 1991. He then was employed with AO Smith in Tipp City and retired from PMI, Troy, in 1997. He loved his family and gardening and he loved to tell jokes. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev. John Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher, Ohio with VFW Memorial Honor Guard services at the graveside. Friends may call from 5-8PM on Friday at the funeral home. Masonic Lodge Services will be held Friday evening at the funeral home.
