He was born in Mendota, Va. on March 8, 1919 to the late Houston L. and Minnie Lee Booher-Tate. He married Donna Delores Tate on November 26,1942 in Piqua and she preceded him in death on December 22,1991. He then married Etta Mae Roberts on July 11, 1992; and she survives. Other survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy Clark of Piqua, Debby and Dave Pike of Troy, Diane and James Woodard of Pennington Gap, Va., two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Debbie Tate and Ronald and Cathy Tate all of Piqua, six step-daughters, Jerry Terry, Martha Downey, Brenda Hoskins, Judy Snyder, Wilma Dugan, Carol Roberts, 11 grandchildren, 11 great¬grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 16 step-great grandchildren, four step-great great grandchildren, a brother, Roscoe Tate of Virginia and special friends Eugene and Ethel Vicory. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Mr. Tate retired from Inland Manufacturing of Vandalia as an Assembler. He was an active member of the former Evangelical United Methodist Church in Piqua and currently the Spaulding Road Church of God in Dayton. He enjoyed gardening and his family. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Spaulding Road Church of God with Pastor Larry Thomas officiating.
