Weatherhead, 89, of Covington Care Center and formerly of Fletcher, died Friday, March 28, 2003 at 2:03 a.m. in the Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born on July 1, 1913 in Miami County, son of the late Joseph H. and Effie (Moore) Weatherhead. On May 10,1933 he married Connie Marie Hunt in Winchester, Ind. and she survives. He is also survived by a son and daughter- in-law, Don and Vanna Weatherhead of Post Falls, Idaho; daughter, Shirley Ann Flagg of Dayton; three grandchildren; a brother, Herman "Dick" Weatherhead of Dayton; two sisters, Mildred Johnson of Troy and Kathryn "Sue" Kasper of Pleasant Hill; and many nieces and nephews. His parents, one son, Willard, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Orville attended Staunton High School. He proudly served on the Brown Twp., Miami Central and Miami East School Boards for many years. Orville and his wife ran the Weatherhead Market in Fletcher during the 1940s. He volunteered on the Fletcher Fire Dept. In 1978, Orville retired from Hobart Brothers after 36 years of employment. Orville was also a member of the Union Baptist Church. Friends and family may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Suber Funeral Home in Fletcher. Funeral services will be held at the Union Baptist Church on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Mix presiding. Burial will be in the Fletcher Cemetery.
