She was born April 26, 1912, in Miami County, a daughter of the late John and Delia (Packman) Holmes. She was preceded in death by her husband, William White, and sisters Edith Smith, Florence Karnehm, Maxine Davidson; and niece, Marcia Davidson. Dorothy is survived by two nieces, Beverly (Ralph) Pennington of Gilbert, Ariz, and Becky Apple of Piqua; nephews, Joe, Tom and Bill Wood of Piqua, sisters-in-law, Delores Wood and Nellie White of Piqua; and brothers-in law, Carl White of Piqua and Calvin White of Dayton. Dorothy and her husband William owned and operated the Harley-Davidson sales and service center in Defiance for 32 years. Dorothy was a former member of the Piqua Baptist Church and a current member of the Defiance First Baptist Church. She was a member of the American Motorcycle Association, Defiance Eastern Star, Eagles Auxiliary and a Charter Member of the Yankee Motorcycle Club. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, with Bill Zimmerman of the Fletcher United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.
