Bernice A. Wiley, 96, of Fletcher, went home to be with her Lord and loving 
Savior at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006.
She was born May 7, 1910, in Shelby County, to the late Le Roy and Eliza Jenie 
(Allen) Martin. She married Harvey Francis Wiley on Aug. 30, 1930, and he 
preceded her March 24, 1981. A daughter, Norma Jean Mullen, an infant son, Roy 
Addison Wiley, and two brothers, Virgil and Kenneth Martin also preceded her 
in death.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Elaine (Butch) Emswiler of Fletcher, 
Christine (Dennis) Barbee of Piqua and Randy Mullen of Fletcher; five great-
grandchildren, Jamie (Tamara) Emswiler of Hawthorndene, S.A., Australia, Adam 
Emswiler of Fletcher, Jill (Jodie) Balser of Fletcher, Rita (Terry) Puthoff of 
Ft. Knox, Ky. and Kelly (Mike) Schellhouse of Huber Heights; and three great- 
great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jonah Emswiler of Hawthorndene, S.A., Australia 
and Aly Schellhouse of Huber Heights. She also is survived by a brother, 
Francis C. (Louise) Martin of Piqua and five Virginia M. Verdier of Sidney, 
Maxine Pence of Sidney, Marjorie Ebberts of Vandalia, Mary Martin of Tipp 
City, and Carol Sue Pellman of Sidney.
Bernice was a homemaker all of her life.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday in the Suber-Shively Funeral 
Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, with the Revs. Russ Tischnor and Marilyn 
Hardman of the Fletcher United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will be in 
Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher.
