"Ernie" Wiltheiss, 87, of Troy, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, in Piqua Manor Nursing Home. He was born April 23, 1920, in Troy, the son of the late Ernest C. and Edyth M. (Knoop) Wiltheiss. He married his wife of 66 years, Veda Elifritz, on June 28, 1941, and she survives. Together they raised four children who survive, Darlene (Roger) Friend of Troy, Nancy Radabaugh of Wabash, Ind., Thomas (Diana) Wiltheiss of Fletcher and Margie (William) Smith of Piqua. Ernie was a loving grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He also is survived by five sisters, Lois Boehringer of Piqua, Nellie Thornton of Erie, Pa., Janet Maxson of Conover, Peggy Drennan, of Cadiz, Ky. and Carla VanHoogen, of Boise, Idaho; two brothers, Robert Wiltheiss of Piqua and Jack Wiltheiss of Valley City; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons-in law, Jerry Radabaugh and Jack Caldwell; two brothers, Donald and Gene Richard Wiltheiss; and four sisters, Betty Carity, Mildred Weatherhead, Doris Elifritz and Carol Woods. Ernie was a member of the Union Baptist Church of Troy and a lifelong farmer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Union Baptist Church, 1833 E. Peterson Road, Troy, with the Rev. Dale Adkins presiding.
