She was born in Miami County to the late Earl and Myrtie (Morris) Worthington on April 21, 1914. In addition to her parents, Lova was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Johnie, and Horace, and two sisters, Vertie Sands and Bessie Hope Worthington. Lova is survived by four nieces, caregiver Inez (Dick) Smith of Fletcher, Evelyn Smithey of Sidney, Carolyn (Chuck) Thornberry of Mesa, Colo., and Roberta Billingsley of Boulder, Colo. Lova was a member of the (Brush) Springcreek Christian Church. She was Worthy Matron in 1944 of Order of Eastern Star, Fidelity Chapter 88 of Lena. She graduated in 1932 from Lena- Conover School, where she was valedictorian of her class. In 1941, she graduated from Miami University with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She retired in 1970, after teaching 36 years, seven years at Washington Twp. and 29 years at Kyle School in Troy. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, with Pastor Darrin Harvey of the GreenView United Church of Christ presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.
