Their Lieutenant was in a buggy in front his leg propped up with sheaves of oats. He had been shot in the leg by a squirrel rifle in a little fight they had day before yesterday. Our folks did not have any killed, 3 or 4 wounded, Secesh" 15 killed, 28 wounded, 25 or 30 wounded. I want you to give the enclosed note to your Uncle John for John Jr. @ Elgin. I must close.
