You will see Gus Pems is killed before this reaches you, he was shot dead venturing too far to get the wounded, he was a noble boy, his body was sent to Nashville to send home. Wm King was wounded in the arm, Rany is a prisoner, Brochouse is missing, Leach is killed, Lt A Connor was wounded in the hand, Lt Dancer 11th KY on my Staff was wounded the last days fight and my horse frightened by a shell became frantic and threw me off dragging me by the foot a short distance bruising my face and back and disabling me for a short time right in the middle of a terrific charge, you will see all about it in my Official report. We got a mail today for the Brigade, hardly any letters for the 59th Rgt none for me, tell all the folks to direct to 2nd Brigade in place of the 11th "2nd Brigade 3rd Division Left Wing" My Staff is Lt Temple of Bolinggreen, Aid Decamp Lt Charles F. King, A.A.Adjt Genl Lt Sheaf, Provost Marshall Lt Smith, Cpt of Commissary Lt Darron Nourded is from Indiana, Inspector Cpt Kannard 11th KY, a Dr Martin, E.D. Leowas an H.I. Higgins Orderly. I must now close as I am not yet sufficiently recovered to prose the exhausting effects of the terrible scenes we have went through to pretend to write tired. My love to all, I should like to see you much and I think we may stay here some time, if you have a good chance and learn we are going to stay here some time you might come out, there is a talk we will be paid now shortly Yours Affectionately JP Fyffe PS Agt King goes to Nashville today to send Gus Pems body home. Henry Liggett is along to take his brothers remains, I sent a letter to Thos Walker some time ago to come out. Wm Smith wishes him for Wagon Master of the Brigade. I also wanted him and Ed or others of them to sell my horse or bring him out if he was fit for service. Tom Macabeer got up from Nashville yesterday, I had a hard time while he was gone - no waggon - no tent - no blankets - no cooking utensils & nothing to cook if we had, I tell you William we had a "Buyer Time" All right now good by love
