I was browsing the Ohio Archives and came across your list of Medal of Honor recipients and was very surprised not to see the name of Jacob Parrott among them. His award should represent quite an honor for the State of Ohio as he was the first ever recipient of the Medal. It was awarded by Abe Lincoln on 25 Mar 1863 for his actions in "The Great Locomotive Chase" in April 1861. He was a resident of Kenton, Hardin Co. and I am sure that their Historical Society can provide you a lot more information than I can. Ernie Alf Boerne, TX
