Deceased was one of the directors of the Monroe County Fair Board for many years and was widely known throughout this section of Ohio. He followed the oil business for several years. Surviving are his wife and the following children; Mrs. Roy Foraker, of Gary, Indiana; Prof. Walter Burkhart, of Athens, Georgia; Miss Elizabeth Burkhart, of Akron; Clyde Burkhart of Bremen; Mrs. Freda Bracy and Dr. A.R. Burkhart of Woodsfield. Funeral services were conducted from the late home Monday afternoon in charge of Rev. Otto C. Meyer of St. Paul’s Evangelical church, the rites being attended by a large number. Burial was made in the Oak Lawn cemetery.
