The Zanesville Signal, Zanesville, Ohio.  May 13, 1950; p2
	J.W. Schumacher, prominent Woodsfield insurance man, died suddenly at 
4:30 o’clock this morning at his home following a heart attack.
	He had been in good health and his death was unexpected.
	A native of Monroe county, he was the son of Phillip and Anna Lang 
Schumacher, pioneer residents of this area.
	He had operated a grocery store here for many years, and had been in 
the insurance business for the past 16 years.  He attended St. Paul’s 
Evangelical and Reformed church.
	Surviving are his widow, Ella Morris Schumacher, a sister, Mrs. W. B. 
Smith and a brother, C.P. Schumacher all of Woodsfield.
	The body was removed to the Schumacher funeral home.
