Monday, June 17, 1969; p11. Glenn H. Swingle, 72, of Woodsfield, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday (June 16) at Good Samaritan Hospital where he had been admitted June 7 following an illness of several months. He was born near Zanesville on April 22, 1896, a son of Warren F. and Mary Elizabeth Swingle. Mr. Swingle served in World War I with the 308th Engineers and was a member of the First Methodist Church of Woodsfield, the Odd Fellows Lodge and American Legion. At one time he was an engineer on the O. R. & W. Railroad between Zanesville and Bellaire. Surviving are three brothers, Tanner of Philo Route 1, Raymond of Philo, Starling of Philo Route 1; one sister, Mrs. Guy (Mabel) Gibson of 770 Homewood avenue; several nieces and nephews. His wife, the former Helena Yockey and one son are deceased. The body was taken to the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home in Woodsfield where friends may call after 2 p.m. today and Tuesday afternoon and evening. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Rev. George Corbitt will officiate.
