Robinson, Saturday at 11:15 p.m., after enduring many weeks of intense suffering Mrs. Sipe was well known in this vicinity, owning for many years years a millinery store, where Curl and Curl have now have their undertaking parlors. The funeral was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mattie Robinson, Tuesday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. R.F. Smith. Interment in Glendale cemetery. Anna Marie Duval Sipe was born January 24th, 1837 and departed from this life April 21, 1923, aged 86 years, two months and 27 days. Her birthplace was Smithfield, Jefferson county, Ohio. She was the daughter of Gabriel and Jane Ann Brokaw Duval. When she was eleven years old she came with her parents to the immediate vicinity of Cardington, where she lived until her death. When she was eighteen years old she was married to William Sipe who died December 24, 1880. Two children were born to them, Newton Sipe and Mrs. Mattie Robinson, both residing in Cardington. Mrs. Sipe died at the how of her daughter who gave her the most remitting care during her long and painful sickness. The deceased was one of a family of nine children and is survived by one sister, Mrs. Sarah Purcell of Akron, who for some time has been helping to care for her in her last sickness; Mr. Sipe and Mrs. Robinson, above mentioned; two grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. There are many other relatives and friends to mourn her loss for she was a woman greatly beloved by a circle of acquaintances. Her life was a busy one, and she always did her part in life’s activities. It may be said of her as of Mary of old, “She hath done what she could.” She was for very many years a member of the Presbyterian church and a faithful attendant when her health permitted.
