  Died, at Red Oak, Iowa, on Saturday morning, July 31st, of rheumatism of the 
heart, James L. Fox, in the 30th year of his age.  The deceased was born and 
raised in this place; was a young man of industrious habits, and was respected 
by all who knew him. He was sick but a short time, in fact was not confined to 
his bed at all, except but a few hours before his death, which of course, was 
sudden and unexpected, as his friends here had received a letter from him but 
a few days before the sad news reached them that he was no more. The letter 
stated that he was well as usual.  He leaves to mourn his sudden death a 
widowed mother, two sisters and three brothers, who have the sympathy of the 
entire community in this their hour of severe affliction.
